To provide students and staff the resources and services needed to be information literate.
Why Information Literacy is important to all of us?
- It allows us to cope by giving us the skills to know when we need information and where to locate it effectively and efficiently.
- It enables us to analyze and evaluate the information we find, thus giving us confidence in using that information to make a decision or create a product.
- It is common to all disciplines and all learning environments.
- It is the basis of lifelong learning and the foundation of a democratic society.
- It is part of college accreditation.
