Finding reviews in the New Yorker

There are several different ways to find reviews within the New Yorker magazine.
  1. Visit the New Yorker website at: http://www.newyorker.com . On the navigation menu, click on the link for Arts & Culture, then scroll to the bottom of the page. Here you should find various reviews from the last several issues of the New Yorker magazine.
  2. For a more comprehensive set of reviews (or for specific reviews), search Academic Search Premier for reviews specifically from the New Yorker magazine. Follow these instructions:
    1. Once in Academic Search Premier, click on the "Advanced Search" tab.
    2. In the first left hand window, type the terms for the type of review you would like to find - for example, "concert and review."
    3. In the second left hand window, type "New Yorker" - this designates the title of the magazine or journal in which you'd like to find articles.
    4. In the second RIGHT HAND window, select "SO Journal Name." This tells the computer that you only wish to search for articles within a designated magazine or journal.
Use the graphic below as an example.

Finding reviews in other newspapers - When searching the library's newspaper databases for reviews, use the same type of terminology that you used for in searching for specific reviews in the New Yorker.
