Finding local sources of information
First, consider the sources for local information that exist in the community. In the Linn Benton County region, there are several print sources for local
information:
Also, consider the fact that the
Albany and
Corvallis Public Libraries make it their
business to collect books and other materials that pertain to local issues, as do the
Oregon State University and
LBCC libraries.
In the larger region, you may wish to consider the
Oregonian and
Statesman Journal.
A handy Google tip to know
When looking for information in Google from just one particular web source, there are two ways that you can use the search engine to look only for those pages
for one particular web site, or type of web site (an education - edu - site, for example).
1. Use Google's advanced search function, then make sure to fill in the window next to
Domain.
2. You can also use this shortcut. After your search terms, write "site:" and then the website from which you wish to retrieve web pages.
